Sailor TestimonialsThe RS500 is an amazing thing! It was March 2010 that I was looking for a boat to sail together with my girlfriend, that was attractive and was having a great social class. No way I was going to sail the 470 because of the competitive atmosphere, The 29er was more like 'a kids boat' and "old wood" was absolutaly not an option. The only option that was left was to set up something myself in Holland.
The Worlds 2010 in Holland were the amazing start of an extremely friendly and yet competetive class. It is ideal for experienced racers who don't like the pressure of the "Olympic circuit" but at the same time is also accessible for sailors starting out racing.
The International RS500 Class is one of the fastest growing classes in Europe. It attracts very gentle & nice sailors. It is the very attractive class for people who love to sail. That makes me very proud. Proud becayse it has the best socials at events. Proud because of the physical sensation we all feel when racing the RS500. But most of all proud because I can be a part of this class that really bridges the gap between the Olympic Professional Classes and the local "Fun" classes.
We are new and we are global! Since 2010 I am making friends for life all over Europe. And that is great! Sailing the boat and enjoying the socials is the best way to get where it is al about: Fun, Friendship and Freedom!

My Winning Tip
Make time to practice away from racing. 1 hour focussed training can be worth 10 hours racing.
Keep a sailing diary and record what you learn - don't make the same mistake twice.
Sail the boat flat. The flatter you are the faster you go.
